Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is MIW Surveying and Construction Management Group. You can contact us about anything in this policy at martin.ismail@miwgroup.uk or on 07852 170467.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry through a form on this site, we collect:

• your name, phone number and email address,
• the project type, postcode or area, rough budget and start time you choose,
• your message,
• technical attribution data, such as the page you sent the form from and any advertising click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid) or campaign tags (utm source, medium and campaign) that brought you to the site.

We use this to reply to your enquiry, arrange an initial meeting and prepare a quote, and to understand which of our advertising leads to real enquiries. The legal basis is your consent (the tick box on the form) and our legitimate interest in running and marketing the business. If you become a client, we keep the details we need to carry out the contract.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp instead, we use the details you give us for the same purposes.

Analytics and advertising cookies

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics run on this site only after you accept analytics cookies on the consent banner. Without that consent, no analytics or advertising storage is set. See our cookie policy for the details.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of processors to run this site and the business:

• Render: website hosting (data centre in Frankfurt),
• Turso: the database the enquiries are stored in (AWS, Ireland),
• Resend: sends the enquiry notification email (Ireland),
• Cloudflare: DNS and security for the domain,
• Microsoft 365: our business email,
• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics: site measurement and advertising, only with your consent.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are kept for 24 months, then deleted. If you become a client, we keep your details for the length of the contract plus 6 years, to cover the legal limitation period for contract claims.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time for a copy of the data we hold about you, for it to be corrected or deleted, or for us to stop using it. Email martin.ismail@miwgroup.uk and we will deal with it.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
